Pick A Polish: Mac - Silly

Hi everyone. Happy Monday, I hope you're all having a great day.

For Pick a Polish this week I will be showing you Mac - Silly. I only own two polishes from Mac, they're pretty expensive so I'd usually rather buy from other brands that are a bit cheaper.. I like to get a bit more for my money.

Click below for more.

Silly is a bubblegum pink creme. This swatch shows 3 to 4 coats - some nails needed an extra coat to even them out. I wasn't impressed with the formula to be honest, it was very streaky and hard to get even (hence needing three to four coats). I know lighter colours like this do generally have more tricky formulas, but I have plenty of pinks similar to this which have a much better formula and were much cheaper to buy. I believe I paid about £11 for a 10ml bottle, so for that price I would expect much better quality. It is still a pretty pink but the formula has meant I have barely used it since I bought it over a year ago.

I decided to do a striping tape manicure to go with this polish. I taped off half my nail and then created blocks using my striping tape on one half of my nail. I filled in the gaps using OPI - Love.Angel.Music.Baby and OPI - Embarca Dare Ya.

Despite the fact that I wasn't really very impressed with this polish, I was happy with the nail art in the end. Not sure this polish will be coming out of my helmer again any time soon though!

Have you ever spent lots of money on a polish that was a huge disappointment? Let me know your thoughts below.

See you next time.

  1. I love the addition of the triangles, it totally ramps up the manicure! It really is too bad about the formula of Silly though.
