A2Z - J is for Jewel

Hello loves. Sorry I have been a bit absent this week - I've had a lot going on at home lately and my nails/blog have been the last thing on my mind quite honestly.

I did however manage to get this week's A2Z manicure done - even if it is a couple of days late. This week we're on J which is for jewel. I was torn between doing a manicure using jewel toned colours, or just covering my nails in rhinestones (since they're close enough to jewels right?!). In the end I settled on the rhinestone option, as I felt like something a bit over the top!

52 Week Pick & Mix Challenge: Pink, Aqua & Dotting Tools.

Hello my loves. How are we all? I've had a bit of an odd day today, the electricity went off at work so I got sent home early - so not very productive!

I've got this week's 52 Week Challenge post for you today, this week the themes are pink, aqua and dotting tools. This one was fairly straight forward... a pink and aqua dotticure.

Hello lovely people. I hope you are all well. It's nearly Friday and it's my birthday tomorrow! So I'm a little excitable this afternoon lol.

I have this week's A2Z and a review for plate BP02 from Born Pretty Store to show you today. E is for elegant and this stamping plate has some lovely lacey patterns, so I thought it would be nice to use for this theme.

Blood Drip Nails

Hello loves. I hope your weekend's are all going great so far! I have spent my morning planning a weekend away for my 21st birthday so I'm feeling very excited!

I've done some more Halloween nail art for you today - blood nails! As strange as it may be, I actually quite enjoy dressing up like a zombie and dousing myself in fake blood. Unfortunately I don't have a Halloween event to go to this year as an excuse to do this to myself, so I have settled for some bloody nails instead.

Distressed Chevrons

Hi everyone. How are you all? I have had a very long day today, but I have a day off tomorrow so I am looking forward to that.

I have a manicure to show you today which involved the melding together of two techniques (I felt like pushing the boat out you see lol). I came across this image online and I thought I could recreate it with a mixture of the dry brushing technique and some chevron stickers.. so that is what I did :).

Born Pretty Store Review - Black Floral Water Decals.

Provided for review*

Hello everyone. I hope you've had a nice day. I didn't really want to go back to work today, but it wasn't so bad once I got there, plus it's only a four day week :).

I have another review for Born Pretty Store today, this time it's these black floral water decals I will be showing you. I fell in love with the middle design on the photo on the Born Pretty Store website created using these, that was the reason I chose these decals to review. I haven't quite managed to recreate that design exactly, I went for a simplified twist instead.

Fingerfood's Theme Buffet - Retro.

Hi lovelies. It's Friiiiday! I'm looking forward to my weekend as I am going on a night out tomorrow with my bestie, which I haven't done in forever.

Today I have this week's Fingerfood's Theme Buffet to show you, this week the theme is retro. I wouldn't say retro is my usual style, so I wasn't overly inspired by this theme. But I took to google and eventually came across this image which I liked the look of. As usual with me it's a floral pattern, I really am a bit of a flower freak!

Fashion Inspired - Colour Splash Nails

Hi everyone. I hope you are all having good days. It's a week today until I go on holiday so I'm starting to get excited now!

Today I have another clothing inspired manicure to show you. I have lots and lots of designs planned for these I just need to get round to creating them all on my nails :). So I might start doing a little series of these, but I'll just post them as and when I can instead of doing them once a week like some of the other series I have done.

June Tri Polish Challenge: Turquoise, Coral and Nude.

Hi lovelies. I hope you are all having good days.

I have June's final Tri Polish Challenge post to show you today, I don't believe it's almost July already! This will be my last Tri Polish post for a while, if you are a regular reader you will know I have been really struggling with inspiration for the last few months with this challenge so I've decided to have a little break from it. But I am going to be taking part in another weekly challenge from next week so hopefully that will get me out of my challenge rut! Anyway enough of my rambling..

June Tri Polish Challenge: Turquoise, Coral and Nude.

Provided for review*

Hi everyone. I hope you're all having a good day. I am having a very unproductive day today lol.

I have this week's Tri Polish Challenge post to show you today. I did kind of cheat a bit.. I think my turquoise is more of a green (especially in it's warm state) but I'm sure you can forgive me this once. I did struggle with inspiration for this again, I have been having that problem a lot lately with this challenge! So in the end I decided to play with the Nail Stickrs I was sent again.

June Tri Polish Challenge: Turquoise, Coral and Nude.

Hello my lovelies. I hope you're all well today. I am currently trying to hide from all this pollen that's making me itchy and sneezey!

I have my offering for the Tri Polish Challenge this week to show you today. I found this week quite hard, I was struggling with what to do with the colours (a problem I have been having a lot lately with TPC). But I came up with something in the end :).

Copycat Saturday - Neutral Floral.

Hello my loves. Happy Saturday :) I am going on a nail polish hunt for Barry M's new limited edition shade today, it looks so gorgeous I need it!

Today I have this week's Copycat Saturday manicure to show you. This will be my last Copycat Saturday for a while, I have been struggling with inspiration lately and I'm thinking it might be because most of my manicures for the blog are done to a theme. So I've decided to relax my schedule a bit and now I'll have every weekend to post whatever I like :) (although I'm sure I'll still do plenty of posts inspired by other's designs anyway).

Anyway... this week I was inspired by this gorgeous design by maya_tempaku on instagram. I loved the colours in this design, although it may be a bit more appropriate for autumn not spring. But I shall rebel against seasonally stereotypical colours for this post.

Abstract Floral Print.

Hi everyone. How was your day? Mine was busy and I still have lots to do, I'm glad I wrote this post up in advance!

Today I have another random manicure to show you all. I saw a top whilst I was out with a print like this on, so I decided to put it on my nails. I'm not sure if it is meant to be, but it reminds me of flowers, so that is what I am going with.

Copycat Saturday: Nude Leopard Print

Hi loves. It's the weekend! I hope you all have nice plans. I am feeling ill (again!) so I think I will be resting, I keep getting ill lately.

I am back today with this weeks Copycat Saturday post. I was inspired by this pin.. unfortunately the pin doesn't link back to the original creator and the picture doesn't have a watermark. But if anyone does know who originally did these nails please let me know so I can credit them properly.

Nude V-Gaps With My New Barry M's

Hi everyone, happy Halloween!

I have been terribly boring when it comes to Halloween this year, so I am going to carry on that tradition and post something completely unrelated to Halloween. I have had some of Barry M's new releases sitting on my side for a while ready to be played with, so I decided to do something with a couple of those.

I started with an extra coat of Nail Envy to try and make my nails look a bit nicer.

Using striping tape I taped off the triangle shape at my cuticles and painted over the rest of the nail with Barry M - Vanilla, which is one of Barry M's new matte polishes. I only needed one coat of this, very impressed!

Then using a striping brush and W7 - Black I freehanded the black lines.

Next to the black lines I added Barry M - Majesty using the same technique. This is one of their textured polishes.

I didn't use a top coat for this design, obviously as I used matte and textured polishes.

I was very happy with this design, this is the first time I have done nail art with negative space but I really like the effect and I will definitely have to try it again.

As for the Barry M products, I was also very happy with those. They are very easy to work with and I love the effects.

Have you tried any of Barry M's new releases? What did you think?

Random Swatch: Barry M Gelly - Lychee

I have been swatching some of my polishes lately. I have an ever growing stash of nail polish and I am finding that I have a lot of polishes that I haven't even tried. So I thought I would start swatching them and posting the results on here :). That gives me an excuse to try all my unused polishes.

Today I have Barry M Gelly - Lychee to show you. I love Barry M Gelly polishes, I find them so easy to apply and I love the shiny finish. But Lychee has to be one of my favourites.

Lychee is a nude/beige colour which I really have a thing for at the moment. The formula is great and I had no issues with application. For the photo I used two coats and no top coat, as it is pretty damn shiny anyway. I think this shade is great as it is so neutral and will go with pretty much anything.

Has anyone else tried this polish? What did you think of it?
