Inspired By A Vase.

Hello everyone. Are you all having a good day? I am having a nice relaxing day off work :).

I was recently browsing Pinterest and came across a picture of a really interesting vase. I loved the shape and design so decided to do a version of it on my nails. I thought I had pinned the picture, but clearly not and now I can't find it.. I swear I am the most forgetful person ever!

Also I had a mad moment and chopped my nails off, I'm not sure if I prefer them a bit shorter or not.

Copycat Saturday: Gradient Triangles

Hi everyone. I hope you are all having a good Saturday :). Mine has been spent working and then getting my car fixed because it broke down, stupid car!

I am back today to show you this week's Copycat Saturday design. This week I recreated this design by Pshiiit. I really struggled with this design, I re-did it a few times but just couldn't seem to get it right! I am probably being a bit over critical of myself but this manicure just frustrated me :P. Anyway, enough of me moaning..

Copycat Saturday: Colourful Sponged Manicure

Hello loves. How are you all? I hope you all have wonderful weekends. My laptop is doing strange things at the moment.. I hope it doesn't die on me :(.

For Copycat Saturday this week I recreated this design by Polish You Pretty. I have always known about their blog, but have only literally just found their bloglovin' button so have only just started following them properly (it's hidden right at the bottom). But I have had this design pinned on my pinterest for ages so I figured it was finally time to give it a go.

Belle Glamour Swatches and Review.

Hello lovelies. I hope everyone is well.

Today I am back with some more swatches from Belle Glamour, I have swatched for Belle Glamour before so if you missed that post you can read that here. The owner of Belle Glamour, Catriona, contacted me again to see if I wanted to try any more of her polishes. Of course I said yes, especially since there were thermal polishes to be played with!

Gold Chain V-Gaps

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well. I am feeling super tired today since my body didn't want to let me sleep last night, I think I will be having an early night tonight.

I have another random manicure for you today. I felt like wearing something a bit more classy (in my opinion anyway) on my nails, I think with all the crazy Christmas nails I had been doing I needed a bit of a palette cleanser. So this is what I came up with..

Pick A Polish: OPI - Sparrow Me The Drama

Hi loves. How are we all? I can't believe it is New Years Eve tomorrow already, it's crept up so fast.

It's time for this week's Pick A Polish manicure. The polish for this week is OPI - Sparrow Me The Drama. Doing these posts every week has made me realise how many pink polishes I own, nearly every week has been a pink polish so far lol. I promise I do own other colours too!

I got this polish a while ago on ebay.. I am not 100% sure if it is real because the bottle feels very slightly different from the rest of my OPI's, but it still does the job and I got it cheap so I am not going to complain.

Sparrow Me The Drama is a rosy pink cream. This photo shows 3 coats without topcoat. It was fairly opaque and was almost okay in two coats, however there were a few slight bald spots so I added a third to even it out completely. I had no issues with the application.

What I Wore On My Nails - Christmas Work Do.

Hello everyone. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I had a lovely relaxing day and don't have to go back to work until Monday, yay!

Today I am going to show you some nails I wore a few weeks ago to my Christmas work do. I bought myself a sparkly, new dress and needed some nails to match.

Pick A Polish: Essie - Like To Be Bad

Hello loves. I'm feeling a lot better today, I have just finished my shift and now I have the rest of the week off for Christmas, yay! I hope you all have wonderful plans for Christmas :).

I'm here a day late with this week's Pick A Polish due to the 12 Days Of Christmas Challenge yesterday. But now that is over I shall be getting back into my normal blogging schedule. This week I picked Essie - Like To Be Bad.

I haven't used this polish a huge amount before, but have somehow splattered it all over the bottle. I have no idea how that happened.

Like To Be Bad is a soft pink cream. In the bottle it does have a slight shimmer but it doesn't  translate onto the nail. This photo shows 3/4 coats, it is quite opaque but streaks a bit which is why I needed the extra coats on some nails. It's not the easiest polish to apply.

12 Days Of Christmas Challenge: Day 11 - Christmas Trees

Hi everybody. I hope everyone has exciting weekends ahead of them. I am feeling rather under the weather so I think I shall spend mine resting.

Its day 11 of the challenge, just one more prompt after this :(. Today the theme is Christmas Trees.

I was experimenting with my Color Club topcoat to see what its like with nail art, and it smudged my baubles :(. So apologies for that, CC topcoat is good but not quite as good as Seche Vite in my opinion.

12 Days Of Christmas Challenge: Day 9 - Snowmen

Hi everyone. How are you all? I am needing the weekend already!

It's day 9 of the challenge, today's prompt is snowmen. I was really looking forward to today's theme, I have seen so many cute snowmen nails and I couldn't wait to do some of my own.

I came across this design and fell in love so this is what I went with. Plus its based on The Snowman which I used to watch over and over again as a child.

12 Days Of Christmas Challenge: Day 6 - Christmas Decorations

Hi everyone. Happy hump day! Although I have the day off and am working on Saturday, so its not really hump day for me.

We're at the half way point of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge, today's theme is Christmas Decorations.

Since this is the first Christmas I have been moved out of my parents house I had a lot of fun choosing all my own Christmas decorations for my flat. I decided to do my nails based on the decorations I have on my tree because I like them so much.

I started with a base of Color Club - White on my index, middle finger and pinky. For my thumb and ring finger I used OPI - Can't Find My Czechbook.

On my thumb I did some tinsel. I used a detail brush and Color Club - White, La Femme - Disco and Barry M - Boots C (what a creative name).

For my baubles I used OPI - Dining Al Frisco on my index finger and OPI - Tiffany Case on my middle finger. The silver is Avon - Mercury Metal and the black string is Rimmel - Black Cab.

On my ring finger I freehanded the snowflake using Avon - Mercury Metal and added a bit of Barry M - Boots C over the top for some added sparkle! On my little finger I did the star using OPI - Tiffany Case. All the round glittery bits are individually placed pieces of glitter from OPI - I Snow You Love Me.

Here's a close up shot my boyfriend took of our Christmas tree to give you an idea of what I was working from. We also have white tinsel with little iridescent sparkly bits, shiny blue baubles and glittery blue stars (in a similar style to that tree).

I really liked these, they have kind of an icy feeling which is what my tree is like also. I'm gonna be sad when I have to take my tree down this year!

Let me know what you think in the comments.

Thanks for looking.

12 Days Of Christmas Challenge: Day 2 - Snow

Hello lovelies. How are you all?

Its day 2 of the 12 Days Of Christmas Challenge and today's theme is snow. To be honest I'm not a fan of snow, I am not a lover of the cold. However snow is very pretty when I am looking at it from the warmth, so I had soo many ideas for this theme.

I finally settled on this idea though..

I started by doing a gradient using Barry M - Blue Moon, an unnamed blue Color Club and Barielle - Surf's Up. You can't see a massive difference between the Barry M and the Color Club, but I quite like the subtle look.

I added a coat of Barry M - Diamond Glitter for a little extra sparkle.

I freehanded the snowflakes using my White Color Club and a detail brush.

I really loved how these came out, they are so wintry and pretty. This kind of snow I do like!

Have you done any wintry designs yet this year?

Thanks for looking.

Winter Textured Gradient.

Hello everyone. I hope we all have exciting weekends planned. I'm having a few friends round this evening to celebrate my birthday so I am spending the day sorting out things for that.

Today I have some simple nail art to show you. I have seen a few other people do gradients with textured polish and I wanted to have a go too. I decided to go with a wintery, icy feel to match the current weather. I made the stupid mistake of not bothering to tape my fingers up before doing the gradient.. big mistake. Clean up took hours (literally), it made me want to cry!

I used OPI - Tiffany Case and Barry M - Lady for my gradient.

I did this by painting the two colours next to each other on a sponge and then sponging it onto my nail.

I didn't really get them to blend together very well, gradients aren't my strongest point anyway but I found it even harder with textured polish. I think sponging has made the polish look more textured also, possibly a little too textured. It ended up looking a bit lumpy in places.

I wasn't completely happy with how these came out, but I have seen other people pull this off. So I think I may just need to practice my gradient skills a bit more.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried anything similar?

Thanks for looking.

Liquid Sky Lacquer - Blue Daiquiri Swatches

Hello lovelies. How are you all? It's my birthday today, I'm no longer a teenager. I'm not sure I like it, I feel like I should act like a proper adult now (although I'm not sure that will ever happen!).

Recently I was browsing Rainbow Connection (which is a very dangerous pass time for my bank account) and whilst I was drooling over lots and lots of polishes, I managed to restrain myself and just buy one. Since its so pretty, I decided to share it with you today.

The polish in question is Liquid Sky Lacquer - Blue Daiquiri

Blue Daiquiri is a thermal polish. Above it is in it's cold state which is quite a light shimmery blue. This is what it looked like on me most of the time.

In its warm state it is a soft minty green colour. I did have to run my hands under warm water for quite a while to get it this colour.

This is it transitioning, you can just about see it at the tips. I did find that I didn't get much of a transition, it would get to this point and then just go straight back to the cold colour.

I did really like this polish, it is really pretty. However I can't help but be a bit disappointed that it took so much effort to make it change colour! I have looked up reviews from other people, and no one else seemed to have this problem. So I think it may just be the fact that I always seem to have consistently cold hands (people do quite often tell me that). Besides all this, it really was a great quality polish so I would definitely purchase more from Liquid Sky Lacquer.

Have you tried anything from this brand? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for looking.

Minion Nails

Hello lovelies. How are you? I'm still off work at the moment, not being able to walk properly is very frustrating.

Today I have some minion nails to show you. I feel I am a bit late to the party with these, but I finally watched Despicable Me 2 last week and decided I want to get in on the minion nail art action.

I started with a base of Nicole by OPI - Hit The Lights.

I then used an unnamed Color Club blue and added it like a french tip. I used a striper brush to add the little straps.

For the eyes I used a few different sized dotting tools. The polishes were Avon - Mercury Metal, Color Club - White, Leighton Denny - Forbidden Territory and W7 - Black. I used the black and a striper for the straps.

For the mouths I used a detail brush and a dotting tool for the teeth. The polishes for the mouths were W7 - Black, Barry M - Passionfruit and Color Club - White.

These did take me quite a long time, but I was pleased with the outcome. I got quite a few compliments whilst wearing them. If I was having a bad time (which is quite often working in a call centre lol) I would look at my nails and they would cheer me up a bit. How can you not laugh at those faces?!

Have you seen Despicable Me? Did you love it as much as I did?

Thanks for stopping by.

Abstract Circles.

Hello everyone! This is a scheduled post so providing this works I should currently be sunning myself in Cyprus :).

Today I have some nail art to show you that I did based on this image. I am not 100% sure what it is meant to be, but I really liked all the circles. This was really hard to capture on my nails, so I haven't replicated it exactly. But I am still pleased with my interpretation.

I started with a white base and sponged OPI - I Saw.. You Saw.. We Saw.. Warsaw (that name is way too long) and Rimmel - Blue Eyed Girl over the white. I feel this may have been a bit of a pointless step because you couldn't really see it once I did everything over the top.

I sponged OPI - Live and Let Die and OPI - Uh Oh Roll Down The Window onto the tips.

I then made some circles with a white creme using my largest dotting tool. I diluted a bit of Barry M - Blueberry using nail polish remover and added this in blobs over the circles.

I added more circles using the same technique and did the diluted blobs using Rimmel - Blue Eyed Girl. I also diluted a bit of OPI - Uh Oh Roll Down The Window and added a tiny bit of this.

I really enjoyed doing these, it was something a bit different. They definitely aren't a perfect replica of the inspiration but you can kinda see the connection right?

Thanks for looking!

Nail Lacquer UK Swatches

Hello lovelies. I hope we all had a good weekend. I am off to Cyprus tomorrow for a week of sun and a much needed break from work. But I have been painting my nails like crazy for the past few weeks so I still have some posts scheduled to show you. I have never scheduled a post before though so I hope it works lol, I guess we shall find out :).

Anyway, today I have some swatches to show you. I am not much of a swatchy person, I much prefer to post nail art as I think it more interesting. However I loved these polishes so much I just had to share them! I had been eyeing up Nail Lacquer UK's etsy store for a little while and I finally caved and bought a few to try out.

This post is quite picture heavy so click the jump for all the swatches.

Daisy Nails

Hello everyone! I hope we are all having a good week.

Today I have some more floral nails to show you, I am really loving florals lately. I have a few more designs lined up to show you and I have only just realised that almost all of them are floral in some way. I need to stop! Lol. This time I did daisies, based on this design which was by The Nailphile.

I started with a base of A-England - Lady Of Shallot. This is such a gorgeous colour (as always with A-England) but I struggled capturing it's beauty in my pictures, I still need to figure out my lighting set up.

I freehanded the white with a white creme and my detail brush.

I added the yellow with Nicole by OPI - Hit The Lights using a dotting tool.

A coat of Seche Vite and that was it.

These were so quick and easy to do but still rather pretty.

I will be back soon with some more floral nails!

Thanks for looking.

Galaxy Nails!

Hello everyone. Its finally the weekend, I hope everyone has a good one! :)

I've had a bit of a disaster this week, my laptop died on me :(. I am writing this post up on my boyfriend's laptop at the moment, but he is self employed and uses this for work so I can't steal it too much. So my posts may be a bit slow until I get my one fixed. Hopefully it won't take too long, I have so many things I want to share!

Anyway, enough of that. Today I have my first attempt at galaxy nails to show you. I have been meaning to do these forever and FINALLY got round to doing them. I personally really enjoyed wearing them.

I can't remember exactly all the polishes I used for this.. I was stupid and forgot to write them down. I believe I started with W7 - Black as a base.

I then sponged on Essie - Aruba Blue, Topshop - Moondance and I think the pink is an unnamed W7 which I got in a set.

Then I added some dots with a white creme (I can't remember which one) and fished a few bits of glitter out of OPI - Which Is Witch? and placed these on my nails. I was hoping they would give it more sparkle but unfortunately they kinda just looked the same as the white dots. Oh well.

As always, I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I had a lot of fun doing these, I definitely think I'll try them again. Maybe with some different colours, I really like the pastel ones The Nailasaurus did here.

Have you ever tried galaxy nails?

Thanks for looking!
